MKA POLICY FOR MEASURES AGAINST NEW CORONA VIRUS INFECTION

In order to spread the new corona infection, we will take proper measures against infection. Please understand and cooperate with the following.

Entering the venue
Important points for inside the venue
Provisional Match and Referee Rules in place until the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.
** If you develop a COVID-19 infection within two weeks of the examination finishing, immediately contact the MKA Event Official @ 0122079221 (Alice) and give details of the people you were in direct contact with.
- People with symptoms such as a fever, cough, or sore throat, or if their condition is different than normal.
- People living with a family member or a close acquaintance that is suspected of being infected.
- People who within the last 14 days have traveled to or had close contact with a person from a country or region that is restricted by the government, or after entry have had to undergo a period of observation.
Entering the venue
- To prevent the spread of infections, everyone is requested to wear a mask to and from the venue.
- Disinfect hands with the alcohol spray that is placed at the entrance.
- MKA Event Officials will take everyone's temperatures and check everyone's RTK test results. You must do your RTK and take pictures on the day. Without showing your RTK, you will not allow entering the examination hall and "no refund your registration fee"
- People whose temperature is 37.5 ̊C or over will not be allowed to enter.
- MKA Event Officials will assign each dojo a place to put their stuff. Please follow MKA Official's instructions.
Important points for inside the venue
- Everyone shall exercise physical distancing by keeping at least 1m (2m if possible) away from other people.
- Hall, chairs, tables will be sanitized.
- Everyone has to take home their own trash.

- All players MUST use their Mask at the time. Face Shield or Mouth Shield are optional.
- Shinpan shall wear masks while officiating matches. All Shinpan-ki (flags) will be sanitized.
- The face mask shall cover both the mouth and nose.
- If it comes down under the nose, the match must be stopped and the mask reset.
- Abiding by the guidelines set out by the All Japan Kendo Federation, competitors should avoid tsuba-zeriai. If tsuba-zeriai is unavoidable, both competitors should
separate immediately, or attempt hiki-waza. Competitors should not shout at each other (kakegoe). (Hassei will be permitted in the case of hiki-waza. If the
competitors do not separate forthwith, the Shinpan should announce “Wakare” without delay. - When Shinpan enter or leave the Shiai-jo, they should maintain a distance of at least 1 metre of separation. Fukushin should move to their positions by walking on
the outside of the Kaishi-sen (start line). - Gogi (deliberations) between Shinpan shall be held at intervals of not less than 1 metre.
- When debriefing after officiating, Shinpan should maintain a distance of 1 metre or more of separation.
- Due to the necessity of masks, measures should be taken to mitigate heat stroke by shortening match time and including breaks when match time is extended (Encho)

The regulation of the matches will be made according to “The Regulations of Kendo Shiai and Shinpan
(September 2nd, 2017 - “The Regulations” and its subsequent amendments)”, published by International
Kendo Federation (F.I.K.), except for the points specified hereafter.
2. Provisional Match and Referee Rules in place until the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.
1. All players must use their mask at all times.
2. If the mask drops below the nose, the match must be stopped and the player must readjust their mask properly.
3. No tsubazeriai.
4. If the players come into contact, they must separate themselves in 1 second.
5. If players are in contact for 2 seconds, “wakare” will be called.
6. In the event of Encho, 15 seconds is allocated to the Main Referee to check on player’s condition and decide if a
short interval (30-60 seconds) is required before proceeding with Encho.
3. Championship Titles
The following individual championships are to be contested:*
1. Individual Men’s Championship.
2. Individual Women’s Championship.
3. Individual Kyu Mix Gender Championship. (under 15 years of age)
4. Individual Competitions
1. All matches are played by San-Bon Shobu and duration for each tournament are show in the table below:

• Referees participating in the tournament are allowed to wear gi and hakama.
• Referees who are not competing must wear:
o A plain grey pair of trousers;
o A plain white shirt;
o A plain deep red necktie; and
o A plain dark blue or black pair of socks.
6. Commendations
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd (2 competitors) place competitors for each Individual tournament and 12 “Fighting Spirit Competitors” shall be commended.
** Remarks:
The organizer will not be held responsible for any loss of personal belongings during the Championships.
